The Problem

GCSE English Language is one of the most important qualifications your child will ever take. It’s required for almost every college course, apprenticeship, and job. Yet, each year, thousands of students across the UK fail to achieve the all-important Grade 4 pass. In 2024, over 31% of students didn’t achieve a pass in English Language - that’s around 180,000 young people who will now need to resit, often struggling with confidence, motivation, and exam anxiety.

What's more, private tutoring often costs £40–£50 per hour, making it an unsustainable monthly expense for many families. At the same time, schools rarely have the capacity to provide consistent one-to-one support, leaving students without the extra help they need outside of lessons.

Resits are increasingly common, but they can feel like a cycle of frustration when students don’t have flexible, high-quality lessons they can revisit in their own time. These gaps leave thousands of young people at risk - feeling behind, anxious about exams, and without the targeted guidance that could transform their confidence and results.
